Dr. Alexis Fisher grew up in Charlotte but only recently moved back to the area to join the team at Commonwealth.
She attended Appalachian State University (Go Mountaineers!) for her undergrad and North Carolina State University College of Veterinary medicine.
Dr. Fisher enjoys preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine cases. Following the rescue of her pittie, Fez, she developed a special interest in animal behavior and became Fear-Free Certified. Utilizing this certification, Dr. Fisher works collaboratively with anxious pets and pet parents to develop a plan for the most stress-free visits possible. Not just a dog lover, she has a soft spot for “spicy” kitties that love to share their opinions during visits.
Outside of work, Dr. Fisher loves spending time cooking, creating art, yoga, being outside hiking or finding the best new food spots with family and friends. Her guilty pleasure is watching reality TV with her animals, Fez and his kitty sister, Tanya.
